Ours here aren’t that sensitive. Which is good for cooking/new cooks.

Our new neighbor (the one we’ve had since we moved in moved out last month) smokes so much pot indoors that our closet that shares a wall with their unit now smells like pot, which is not great for the suits I have to wear to court. We don’t want to narc, and are not anti-pot, but this is 24/7.

I think I’d give it a go.

The result was a complete defense verdict and the case settled, for less than the last 998, right before openings of the Phase 2 Jury Trial (elder neglect, negligence, fraud, financial elder abuse, and wrongful death), which Ms. Decker was also on the trial team for.

Upon joining the team, Ms. Decker refocused the defense strategy into one cohesive story changing what had previously been testified to in depositions as consideration free transfers with “rent” payments into payments of over six figures for each business and lifelong payments to the seller.

Case 2: The Bench Trial

This case had been pending for several years, but Ms. Decker was added to the case in December of 2024 to first chair the multi-week Phase 1 Bench Trial (fraudulent transfer, alter ego, joint venture, and successor in interest) which started in early January of 2025.

Power went off at some point after 3 last night. I know only because in my dream everything got quiet and I told someone I think the power went off and then I woke up to our appliances loudly beeping and the clocks all off.

Watched the original Thomas Crown Affair and am immediately nostalgic for a time when I could afford a house.

That explains his counsel putting his head in hands and crying.

Honestly, if I was redoing the White House I think I would add some slides.

Our cat would be a vegetarian if he knew where his food came from. He chose indoor life after living on the streets. But he enjoys watching a good bird swoop.

It’s absolutely wild- but if we watch it with him for more than a few minutes he gets too excited. Last night he fell off the windowsill onto an amp.

We always comment that it is his “Shark Week”.

Every year for a week in July our cat has Crow Week. It’s a week where, for unknown reasons, a ton of crows and ravens hang out in the early evening in the trees across from our apartment and swoop up to the apartment roof and back down to the trees. Our cat watches it with such excitement.

Great conversation starter.

In less than 4 months, the case was resolved for a nuisance amount and a fraction of the initial settlement demand, all without the defendant having to turn over a single document.

This case involved allegations of disability discrimination, failure to accommodate, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Given the potential exposure, and to keep costs and low, Ms. Decker immediately prepared an answer and then jumped into settlement negotiations.
