Thank you to the Utah IGDA Chapter and everyone who put together their Game Dev Choice Awards earlier this month! It was an unexpected honor for SnowDown to be recognized, but none of it would have been possible without the work people have put into Godot and other awesome open-source technology.

One cat is manageable but two on the lap makes coding rather difficult

Made yet another #adventofcode visualization today for last night's problem (Day 8). This was a fun one to put together!

I probably worked a little longer than I should have this weekend to follow up and make a Part 2 visualization for #adventofcode Day 6 showing all the parallel timelines of looping guards. πŸ˜…

(Also apologies in advance, I didn't expect the loops to be so big and cause all that flashing...)

Made another #adventofcode animation in #godot for Day 6: The lab guard decided to go for a little run

I've been doing the #adventofcode challenges for a few years now but I figured this year it might be fun to make some visualizations for the first time with #godot! I present Day 4 (Part 1): the XMAS word search

My game, SnowDown, reached 50 copies on Steam! It may not seem like a lot but as a new hobbyist solo dev I'm humbled and grateful that so many people out there took a chance on it. I hope they all have been able to make enjoyable memories with their family and friends! ❄️ s.team/a/2792160

Over the years I've started and abandoned sooo many projects, including this VR nonogram puzzle idea with a topiary theme πŸŒ³πŸ¦†. Maybe I'll have to revisit it someday?

Hi! Nice to see someone who can probably appreciate the challenge of standing up a set of containerized, multi-region servers all just to run a silly little party game I made lol πŸ˜„

That sounds awesome! I can't say I'm an expert in all things Godot yet, but I have a fair amount of general coding experience (and I actually genuinely enjoy debugging) so I'd love to take a look at people's code for help in the art department :)

Oh and apparently the GIF I tried to attach didn't work how I expected... πŸ€” So here's a video instead

Next time I join a game jam, I really need to get over my shyness and find a team. I'm still proud that I managed to put together a playable game over a single weekend by myself (especially since I don't have much 3D experience yet) but I have to admit the programmer art is strong here πŸ˜… #godot

Wow there's a lot of us solo devs here! I would love to be added if possible but no worries if there's no room left

In retrospect, I should have focused and gotten feedback on the controls right away, since I knew the group movement would be awkward, but was hoping it'd end up more funny than just frustrating. On the bright side, I learned how to do a lot of things for the first time, even my first 3D shader :)

Some #gamedev skills I'm still figuring out are how to prototype efficiently and move on without getting too discouraged. I worked on this idea for a co-op game where you move as a group in the dark while being stalked by an enemy, but I think it was better in my head than actuality. Live and learn!

I'm just a small-time hobbyist but I'd love if I could be added! I recently made a little party game and will hopefully get another one rolling soon

"Do you think a depressed person could make this video game? No!"

Seriously though, making a game can sure be tough sometimes lol #gamedev #solodev

I didn't actually try to release anything for another 25 years but I first started learning to make games in QBASIC circa 1999

One year ago I started tinkering with the Godot Engine, hoping to make a simple game in time to play with my family at the upcoming holiday gatherings. It's funny looking back at how much changed and yet how much of it stayed exactly the same.🐧

Earlier this year I released my first game on Steam! SnowDown is a party game where friends and family can join using their phone as a controller in a showdown of skill, luck, and snowball destruction. Check it out this holiday season! store.steampowered.com/app/2792160/...
