Who can choose CPS’s next CEO? Chicago elected officials — and legal experts — disagree. State Sen. Rob Martwick emailed the Chicago school board president in late May, saying that it’s the mayor’s right — not the school board’s — to hire a new CEO, based on how state law is written.
