Yes, you were. He’s toast. Starmer will survive until the elections in May. Beyond that, it’s anyone’s guess! There’s no one with any competence to succeed him.

Delightful place, but the main difference is driving. Less traffic, virtually no pot holes and well maintained roads.
I’ll go again.
My wife and I both prefer Virgin to BA. BA Club used to be good but they’ve watered down the product over the last 5 years.
Virgin Upper still feels special, both in the lounge and the cabin. However, it’s anyone’s guess if that will remain the case.
Hi F, good to talk on Xmas Day.
On a commercially run railway I favour OA competition. It generally forces down prices and forces up quality.
But that’s not the case on today’s state run railway. OA must exist on the revenue it carries, not on an arbitrary sharing.
Complicated subject.

“During the Covid lockdown, if you had family round on Christmas day, police would force entry and make them go home. Does anyone know if this service is still available, and if you have to book?”
It would seem that @RMTunion members, having observed their cousins at @ASLEFunion exercising their strength, have finally cottoned on to how this is all works. Expect more.

So, it’s @heidialexander.bsky.social as the new S of S for T.
She could do a lot worse than asking for a copy of “Getting Britain Moving” as soon as she sits down.
Her predecessor had it right first time.
I suspect the real expenditure will now begin. The formation of GBR and the restructuring of a diverse system into a functioning whole.
Plus the small task of transforming a poorly performing train service into something customers want to use.
Don’t spread this story too wide, people will think I was going soft!
