On December 2nd, the Supreme Court heard arguments to decide whether the CPCs must go to the state courts before seeking relief from the federal courts.

Now, we wait for them to make a decision.

If the Supreme Court were to rule in favor of First Choice and allow their case to move forward in federal court, it would embolden CPCs to keep preying on pregnant people when they’re at their most vulnerable — and make it harder for states to hold organizations like them accountable.

As part of their investigation into First Choice’s potential fraud, the New Jersey Attorney General subpoenaed a bunch of their records.

Now, First Choice is claiming the investigation violated their
First Amendment rights.

CPC's whole gig is based on lying to pregnant people to scare and bully them from accessing the reproductive health care they need.

That’s what First Choice Women’s Resource Centers (a CPC) was doing when New Jersey started investigating them for violating state consumer fraud laws.

Ever seen those pamphlets or billboards that say “Scared? Pregnant? Get help!”?

That was probably a crisis pregnancy center (CPC). They’re fake health clinics that present themselves as doctor’s offices — when all they really do is shame and scare people looking to access reproductive health care.

Crisis Pregnancy Centers are back before the Supreme Court — and the stakes are high.

This time, the question is about whether CPCs can hide behind the First Amendment to avoid accountability.

Senators reject SC abortion ban proposal touted as strictest nationwide • SC Daily Gazette The proposal failed Tuesday with a 2-3 vote. Four of the panel's Republicans declined to vote, enabling the three Democrats to sink it.

Win for reproductive freedom: Yesterday, a South Carolina bill that would have created the strictest abortion ban in the country was rejected.

This vote shows what we already know — people deserve access to reproductive health care free from intimidation and criminalization.
