A species of Knotgrass growing close to the ground. The majority of the leaves appear to be blunt tipped and of equal size. The stems are tinged reddish pink with tiny fused green white flowers and yellow anthers

A timely post. I very nearly posted this on last weekends #WildFlowerHour Mats of tiny white flowers on a very well trodden rural Lincolnshire footpath. I was not sure at the time but now leaning towards Equal-leaved Knotgrass although it seems it may not be as simple as that.

Sickening to see a clump of monofilament line trapped around and damaging the dorsal fin of this Risso's Dolphin off Trondra today.
Monofilament is a silent killer of wildlife.
Whoever discarded this clearly just doesn't care.
