Well, submitted my ACIP comment FWIW. Feels like shouting into the wind but it is my moral duty to shout 🗣️

RFK Jr. ousts entire CDC vaccine advisory committee Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has removed every member of a scientific committee that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on how to use vaccines.

RFK Jr.‘s extreme anti-vax views — and his related conflicts of interest — were a huge problem during his confirmation process.

So he promised not to change the vaccine advisory panel.

Today, he fired every single expert on that panel. It's a public health disaster.

The AAUP calls for the immediate release of David Huerta & the immediate cessation of these violent & reckless ICE raids that are terrorizing hard-working families from coast to coast.

Seeing some reactions to this calling it a strongly worded letter.

While true in a literal sense that this is a letter, it’s unprecedented—and an escalation of a growing trend of unrest inside NIH.

This took bravery. Each of the signers put their career on the line.

When Americans raised concerns about RFK Jr.'s anti-vaccine views, he said he was "not gonna take away vaccines from anybody."

No boosters for kids is one thing. No first shots - such that first exposure to SARS-CoV-2 comes via infection rather than vaccination - would take kids back to 2020. I can't tell from the NEJM piece what they intend for kids. Old (approved) but not updated vaccines? No boosters? No vaccines at all?
