Our specialty is recreating three-strip Technicolor with analog tools and in three-strip there are also unique colored flares (magenta). After we combined period correct lenses with our equipment we were able to have those magenta flares without any digital manipulation. So I’m sure its possible.

They’re an artifact of the combination of the lens coatings used at the time and the way colors were layered in the film negative.

We lit this piece way up into the shoulder to better match the backdrop. It was one of the largest we’ve used, we had about 300fc for the overexposed key

The song came from riffing on a yamaha reface dx as I was working on an acoustic piano patch thats at the center of this one

We always try to minimize the amount of post production on our films. The color/b&w swap here is just a quick rotoscope on the 2 versions, layered on each other (done with a wacom tablet, no A.I.) I love how you can feel the extra dimension that color brings as they swap

For this one we created a kind of double chinese lantern out of hoola hoops, streamers & fishing line that was attached to a disco ball motor. I💚 the interference patterns from the close up, it was tempting to just let that shot run and be the whole piece. Adapted 1950s medium format 75mm lens again

🩷 this. I learned from the recent documentary on him that John Williams plays piano on it, which makes it even cooler

So glad that one of our fav. comedians became a part of one of our fav. film series! You’re style fits just right, and the film itself was everything we were looking for in a Ghostbusters!

For this film I adapted a 1950’s 75mm medium format lens, turning it into a tilt-shift. We often use other vintage shift lenses, but most of them are fairly wide.
