I don't know if the term Himejoshi exists in the same conext as Fujoshi but I know that just like in bl, not every manga is like that.

Saying that every fujoshi is a 'misogyonist that fetishizes gay men' is not only very narrow-minded of the genre, but in itself is VERY misogyonistic.

The term "Fujoshi" in its conext came about when women read a lot of bl in Japan and men called them 'unfit for marrige' for that reason.

All of these forms of bigotry are not a characteristic. They are SYSTEMATIC issues that everyone is born and raised into. You don't pop out of the womb woke. It is your JOB to LEARN and understand these things and if you refuse to, then I do not have sympathy for you

I do have empathy for ppl who just don't know about any of this bc at one point I didn't know about it to. I used to hate ships like BakuDeku or AppleDash bc it was ppl of the same gender who didn't get along in their entire relationship (I even started fights and ship wars due to that).

Ik I'm over emphasizing the MHA fandom way too much but these aspects of the fandom are in almost every modern shonen anime fandom and when you ship men and women together in those fandoms, ppl have the same talking points.

Then you guys like anime like A Silent Voice where a female character has a crush on someone who used to be her bully and completely over look those aspects bc it's a romance between a man and a woman.

but you don't put that same context into ppl who ship any male character with MHA with a woman even though it's not canon and when it's even between a minor and an adult and even when Horokoshi HIMSELF sexualizes minor girls in MHA and makes SA and pedophellic jokes about them.

You guys seethe and boil over BakuDeku and TogaChako shippers bc ppl are 'sexualizing underage characters' and the ship is 'problematic' bc Bakugo used to be a bully and Toga killed ppl.

Why is it that you don't like queer ships in shonen but you will ship the MC or any male character with the first female he even talks to?

Also I would like to highlight that I don't support generalization of fandoms in ANY capacity. This thread is on why I think the yuri vs yaoi discourse is very stupid and shortsighted at best and unproductive at worse.

I like JayVik too and I don't hate Mel at the slightest. She is one of the few west African represenation in a popular franchise and I love her character.
