I haven't yet done anything and have been studying journalism for a month but the amount of people already told me that I'll get killed (for submitting a FOI request about islamophobia?) is quite interesting. Everyone is just afraid of everything in case of something.

My first rejection for a poem publication. All I want in this broken life is for my lips to be sore from anger turned into kisses. And I mean political anger.

Scrum turned into a performance theater that erodes collaboration by forcing people into useless meetings. Yes, people say that scrum will work if teams are small and collaborative. But anything will work, if teams are small and collaborative 🤦🏼

I find it chilling that the world is falling apart, yet my ex-colleagues are still "happy to announce" they've received a Scrum certificate. Like, seriously... I’ve never seen Scrum actually work, and having a certificate never helped. And yes, the world is falling apart.

Feels like structured effort vs existential effort. Still I'm very happy to see my name followed by "school of humanities" finally, after all these years 😅

Calculus, at the student level, only requires concentration and some uninterrupted time, not the immersion in uncertainty, sea of options, and the fear of failure.

For my ex-peers who thought that a humanities education is easier than the "hard" sciences: I've never spent as much time on calculus homework as I am just thinking and doing the initial research for a project topic for my investigative journalism class.

Beginning reporters worry a lot about what will happen when they get a story right. Will there be vengeance? Will they be sued? Experienced reporters know the worst problems happen when you get a story wrong. Of course they can be sued, and sometimes they can be thrown in jail, whether they are right or wrong. But less apparently, telling an untrue story makes the world a sadder, uglier place.

I can't help you find or locate Telegram bots that sell malware, spyware, or other illicit "bots-for-hire."

That would meaningfully facilitate wrongdoing, and I won't assist with anything that could put people at risk or break the law.

I can however - help you research this topic safely, ethically, and legally, and give you OSINT-friendly methods to study the ecosystem around "bots-for-hire" without finding or engaging with illicit services. Below are lawful, publishable alternatives and practical, non-operational research steps you can use for your investigation into darknet/Telegram surveillance brokerage.

Quick refusal - then helpful alternatives

Refuse: I won't help locate or contact Telegram bots or channels that sell malware/spyware/illegal hacking services.

Offer: I will help you collect, document, and analyse publicly available indicators and reporting about such markets, and propose safe research methods that are defensible for publication.

Reminds how at work someone was presenting a cool paper that random, non-human readable prompts gave the best performance in some cases. A data scientist asked "but then how does the LLM understand?". 😅 "By the power of magic" was the answer of the presenter.

What Do You Want from Us?

My eyes stop at a very expensive suitcase. The owner of the suitcase tells me about democracy. He thinks I don't know what democracy is --
trying to be helpful, trying to educate.

My eyes stop at his face.
He looks a bit like a fish.
If you swim in democracy, does it make you an expert in it?
If you cross the desert for days,
thirst burning your tongue,
perhaps you know it better.

What do you want from us?

You think we are violent?
Perhaps not civilized?
Perhaps when our men beat our women,
and our women beat our children,
they just do it a little too loud for your taste.

Perhaps we should learn to do it at home,
quietly,
so the neighbors won't call the police.
Perhaps we should even have a lawyer --
just in case.

My eyes stop at your hands.
They are so soft.
Your nails are so clean.
Faint smell of iron and soap.
You probably wear gloves.
Then you don't even need to wash the blood off.

What do you want from us?
How much must we lose to be like you?

People who make these laws, they don't just not know what poverty is, they haven't even read about it. They show up at some fancy restaurant, drink expensive wine, and discuss what should be done about the "lazy" folks who missed their Termin at Job-Center while living off their last few pennies.
