You know the drill. Wash your hands, get vaccinated if you are medically able to, avoid other people if you are ill, if you even suspect you might possibly be ill, wear a mask.

Don't write it off as "just a cold". That "cold" could ruin someone's life or even kill them.

If you are going to protests, mask up.

If you are going to crowded gatherings (especially indoors), mask up.

If you are against genocide and eugenics, mask up. Not doing so only puts others at risk and that's what we're fighting against.

Make them feel the pressure that they actually have to do their job and won't just get rehired again automatically. Remind them that they are meant to represent the will of the people they represent, not those who bought them.

Several states have a way to fire your elected officials with recall elections.

Impeachment and end of term to vote them out are options for the others. Run against them if nobody else is.

I'm also convinced that librarians either know everything or know how to find out about it. Be nice to them. They know all the tricks and will absolutely help you out if they can. Tax prep? Done. Legal workshops? Not-uncommon. Classes on just about anything? Check the schedule or ask.

Capitalism hates it when you mend clothing, repair stuff when it breaks instead of replacing it, trade for goods/services, grow our own food, and support one another as a community. Make capitalism mad.

What it's like to have a self-appointed service dog (his call, not mine and wasn't at all the plan when we adopted him): It's like living with an overly protective werewolf that can always hear your heart rate. He worries.

You know what a wonderful act of rebellion is? Getting a library card. Higher card numbers help them with funding even if you never use it (but you should for free audio books via Libby at the very least). Many branches have tool libraries or have seed libraries that you can use to grow food.
