That's what I'm saying! I didn't know this was a thing until much later in my playthrough of 2 as someone new to the series, which led to a more interesting personal experience with my own skill progression than "read about new ability and then unlocked it". I could've phrased that better lmfao

Forcing players to pay attention to the enemies is really the genius bit here. There's a suble animation that the big birthing enemy does right before you can counter it where the part of it with legs starts panicking as you move towards it, and that shit gets under my skin every time I see it.
