Interesting question! Computer vision system diagrams seem mainly colored boxes with arrows (?)

The new generation of computer vision researchers might think that way about the GPUs used by Alex Krizhevsky ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Are the original GPUs still around somewhere? ๐Ÿค”

I'd be very interested in the longer piece.

Because.. In my opinion, at the moment this thread is too much about publicly shaming people, and not enough about arguing against the claims made.

Amazing work! This reminds me of adversarial attacks (optimize the confidence) but also of DeepDream (maximize confidence).

Also the Deep Image Prior comes to mind; ie: the bias in the architecture ๐Ÿ™‚

If I may ask, for the brain, do you think the priors are learned? Or hard-coded (evolution)? ๐Ÿค”

Ik denk dat een vd problemen is dat die obscure journals het open access publicatie geld opstrijken.

Een ander probleem kan misschien zijn dat BS nu ineens legit lijkt voor niet-vakgenoten (?).

Desirable Sins Robustness of the holdout method and paths forward for machine learning theory.

Riffing on Ed Leamerโ€™s โ€œsinning in the basement,โ€ I ponder a theoretical reformation in machine learning.

This ambitious line of work is a great example of empirical theory in deep learning!

I think we need more empirical theory in ML/DL (in contrast what ML people call 'theory', which is math, but not empirical ๐Ÿ™‚).
