A woman wears a blue t-shirt with a University of Cambridge Museums logo, and holds up her hand in front of a display of drawn hands on paper, hanging up in front of the window of a shopping centre.
This week, I leave my role as Community Participation Coordinator @camunivmuseums.bsky.social Thank you to my colleagues in the University and wider community working tirelessly across the town-gown web. I've been a Cambridge resident for 20 years and never felt more connected with my local area.

I found a cut gemstone in the gravel at a garden centre café aged 5. My grandparents handed it in to lost property but werre told that I could keep it. It was later set in a ring and it's still the best 'treasure' I ever found and one of my most prized possessions.

An inspiring term at primary school spent learning about the Romans, Anglo-Saxons & Vikings, with lots of story-telling, making and creativity. Combined with my love of Usborne history books, and sealed by a (smelly) visit to Jorvik!
