I looked into the real story that inspired “Smoke” which is covered by the podcast “Firebug”. Stranger than fiction.

It’s sooooooo good. It made me watch “Black Bird”, also written by the great Dennis Lehane and also starring Egertom and Kinnear as well as a bone-chillingly brilliant, Emmy-winning performance by Paul Walter Hauser. Not an easy watch but a very powerful one.
