I would think? But maybe not.

Yeah. It feels like they aren't doing that nearly as much with some of the sports that are popular but the Americans aren't medaling (the ski jump, for instance). I do wish there was more biathlon, curling, and hockey coverage.

I guess you could do the free trial and then cancel.

Also, I realize it's Monday, not Sunday, so there are normally other shows on. I'm off due to the holiday but because the normal programming I remember from childhood didn't even seem to be on (this morning it was Olympics highlights).

Anyway, it's all just so disappointing.

The one segment I caught was like charades or pictionary and people were trying to guess the sport. I wasn't watching, I was just doing dishes with it on in the background and I really wanted to turn it off but my hands were gooped up with dirty dishes.

I'm watching the local affiliate hoping they'd just play some Olympics but instead it's this weird local show that isn't good. And they're airing these segments celebrating sports you'd find in the Olympics, but not actually showing the Olympics or even any highlights.

But what's really dumb about this is that the local news channel doesn't have anything to run most of the time unless it's sports. That's the only thing the legacy channels seem to make any money off of anymore. But because of the Olympics only streaming thing, they have to come up with other shit.

The Olympics on NBC is a perfect example of enshittification. So, things used to air in real time. You'd hop on and watch if stuff was on. Then in primetime, they'd show the highlights.

Now they've moved everything to Peacock. If you have an antenna, you just get the highlights. 🧵

This is actually why, for my M.S., because my lab didn't have an ArcGIS (Arc/INFO or ArcMap at the time) I ended up learning the GMT sofware package which was free but required a UNIX machine to run. So then I ended up learning how to install and use Linux on my machine.

Or Photoshop, or ArcGIS, or Matlab, or any of the coding software we used. Make it make sense.
