#rogerssucks. For the second time in 3 weeks, weโ€™re without both TV and internet for 24 hours! As much as I hate Musk, it looks like itโ€™s time to switch to satellite. Does Rogers not realize people are working from home nowadays?!

Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.

Gus Speth: "I used to think that top environmental problems were biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse and climate change. I thought that 30 years of good science could address these problems. I was wrong. The top environmental problems are selfishness, greed and apathy...โ€

The clearest picture of corporate greed in this country is CEO-to-worker pay ratios.

At the 100 lowest-paying major US companies, CEO pay averaged $17.2M in 2024.

Median worker pay at these companies was just $35,570.

Thatโ€™s a ratio of 632 to 1.

How can anyone defend this?

Yeah crappy dated hotels in Banff are $500-600. In contrast, We had a beautiful private flat in Chelsea London a couple of months ago 100m from the tube station and walking distance to all the designer shops/Harrods for ~300/night

Iโ€™m not a fan of airbnbs

I was shocked there were so few hotels in/adjacent to national parks. So even downscale motels I wouldnโ€™t normally ever consider were still MANY $100s a night due to summer demand/lack of competition. We did Jasper Park Lodge for $1000, better value BUT > 2-3x what we pay in large intl 5 star hotels

Years of experience are irrelevant if you fail to learn anything from any of that experience. A critical aspect of any senior leadership function is proactive contingency planning to deal with potential issues. AC demonstrated none, instead seemingly just banking on feds to solve it & blame FAs

I agree. We usually take our vacations internationally (have avoided US since 2016). Our 1 Cdn vacation to Alberta & BC easily our most expensive outside Galapagos. Hotels were outrageous $500+ & shockingly few options. Flight costs > than Europe/SA, plus needed car rental

Hey, all you Air Canada travellers bitching about getting home and it costing you money. Did you not take out travel insurance? Do you not have credit card coverage? Let your insurer get you home and in the meantime SOAK up the holiday and claim the meals/accommodations paid for by insurance.
