I saw Ninja Assassin in Manila. The cinema itself was enormous. It was also air conditioned. There was a fair amount of chatting during the film. I suspect a lot of people went there as a cheap way to get out of the heat.

Caught up with some old friends over great drinks in cool bars.
Lost a very old friend, who I'd not seen in years, to the ravages of old age.
Devoured delicious comfort food.
Caught a mate's band at a little local venue.

The weird thing about leaving the Bad Place is I've had very little impetus to post much of anything.
To be fair, I'd not been particularly active over there for the last few months either. I seem to be content to observe, given I find myself getting far less angry over here.

Now that I've essentially abandoned The Awful Place, I'm already feeling more relaxed. I wonder if I'll translate that into spending more time doing that bloody writing I keep promising myself I'll do?

For those playing at home, the rissoles, mash, and broccoli were delicious and were paired with a gin and tonic because it's 85% humidity.
Kid loved them too.

Here is some good, banal news which I think is very important you are all made aware of.
I am having rissoles for dinner tonight, for the first time in well over a decade.

Aaand I've already seen folks who like to pretend they're sophisticated lefties complaining about Albo congratulating Trump on winning.
Apparently they think the way to help Australia through the next 4 years is by just constantly calling Trump a cunt.

Those of us of a certain vintage remember that WinAmp had a visualiser thingy, creating "trippy" graphics to go with your music.
Why don't modern music and radio players have that? It's ancient technology now and a lot more interesting than an album cover or radio station logo.
