Other shots tonight are the Southern Cross and Carina region.

Pic 1 is the Orion group with the left < shape of the Hyades below and the Pleiades setting in the tree below again. Far right of pic 2 is Jupiter and then the twin stars of Castor and Pollux, the Gemini Twins.

Tonight's posts were on the Canon 550D loaded for Comet with a 10-17mm Fisheye lens and you can see from Pic 1 there aint a Comet to be seen, should be low on the horizon near the light of the silo centre frame with a broad tail extending up to the right.

Sandy resting with her daughter Snaggy (Snagglepuss) after a Tuna breakfast. I find a $3.00 tin of Tuna from Foodbank lasts 6 kitties and 2 mums a few days for extra treat type breakfast while I tame all the younger kits, cheaper and SAFER than Churos or similar.

For anyone wanting an almost domesticated tabby kitty in the Tamworth Quirind Gunnedah area we have young Snaggy (Snagglepuss) and putting the last polish on her training. Wormed and flea treated she spends most of her life outdoors and will likely be a good mouser.

My father was a genuine multi-lingual with formal classical studies in Greek and Latin and later self taught German and French, both very useful in WW2 in North Africa and Palestine where he was one of very few allowed out to mix with locals where he picked up Arabic.

Cyrillic script is not far different from Greek letter and is much more phonetic than English, I can read neither fluently but if I were dropped in Russia, Unkraine, Serbia and many others I could find coffee, hotels or police if required. My language education was never formal and started in the 50s

I only have a few words at most and what I do know aids in understanding a little of similar languages and cultures ie Serbo Croatian to Polish, Ukrainian and Russian. I am far from accomplished in any. When Indian languages come up they are less homogenous but English and Hindi are understood.

Not fancying my chances with Comet Werzel Gummich (Comet C 2024 E1 Wierzchos) as it will be in that big cloud bank above the silos.

Exactly. I am greatly enriched by all my contact with firstly European and more recently Asian, Pacific and African peoples. They all love to eat and laugh and make wonderful neighbours.

Australia and never travelled to the places that I speak a few words of their language but always greeted people from other places. ate their food and accepted their cultures. I know I make many mistakes but the people don't care if you take the time to befriend them.

Some Indians I have met take a little time to break the ice if they have met with prejudism in the past but when I sus their regional and greet them in Hindi, Junjabi, Tamil, Telegu or Urdu they are overjoyed that I have taken the time to know something of them.

Setting up the Canon 550D (2010) with the 10-17mm Fisheye lens in preparation for the Comet C 2024 E1 Wierzchos (I call it Comet Wurzel Gummich) tonight in the west ... IF those clouds clear enough.

These are TEST SHOTS to iron out the bugs.

I also do this and most often can greet or thank people in a range of European and Asian languages but some have come across extreme bigots in the past and asking them for their mother tongue can cause offense,

Most often it is met with joy and acceptance.

Comet C/2024 E1 (WierzchoΕ›) is shown here on a Stellarium Screenshot and at Magnitude +7 SHOULD BE thoroughly gettable from after sundown until midnight with most cameras with a lens of 35mm or preferably wider (17-28mm).
