Anton mentioned CWFC interest (haven’t heard that anywhere else) + PSG were willing to make her one of the highest paid players a few seasons ago (I’m not aware of their current squad needs/plans). Would be surprised if clubs are not interested after the very tangible difference she’s made at AWFC

CK has most of the leverage here. We don’t really have a great track record for developing younger players. This is a ready now winger, coach really likes her, gets on well with her teammates and has made a real impact on performances. Seems fair to update our wage structure to fit her in.

I get that AWFC values sustainability—but when does a sustainable model become unsustainable? CK came in & we won the UWCL. Yeah still think LW could be effective in the middle but with no Bright there’s no way we see that happen. It’s a risk choosing Michelle over another midfielder. I hope she gets rewarded for it because I always assumed she’d go the safer option.

Rice/Zubimendi/MLS is fine depth for the deeper midfield spot, when you consider there are plenty of emergency options too (more in a double-pivot): Merino/Timber/Calafiori/White/Saliba.

This feels different though. We were in control at 4-1. KM lost her head and directly contributed to their 2 goals. In the last 3 games, we’ve gone from conceding .74 goals per game to 1.18, LHS doesn’t look good imo. This game felt more like a discipline issue more than the other basketball games

Honestly pretty unreal we’ve managed to make this nervy from the position we were in.

Have to say my read so far is that United have tailored their tactics towards Arsenal’s weaknesses and Arsenal have not tailored their tactics for their own weaknesses.

I agree that DVD bails us out & u need ur keeper to do that. Just think the same logic applies to the defenders no? And yes ok say playing in front of Manu makes them nervous, but they get themselves back in the game!! The manner in which they let the game slip by though is inexcusable.

I don’t think any of those reasons played a role in how we conceded/ the types of goals we conceded. In fact the weather helped us in that game! Manu has regressed yes, but my point was she is not the start nor the end of our defensive issues.

We have more pretenders than real leaders. In fact lately they’ve been the first to lose their heads they don’t inspire any sort of comeback or belief. I’m disappointed in every single one of them. After everything we’ve been through this season such a shameful way to go out

Our worst defensive performances with DVD in goal. The spine of that defense ie the CB pair is not good enough.

It seems we’re so open since Lyon in part bc we’re unable to pin sides back w/our press, in turn making it tougher to progress the ball, in turn leading to turnovers. Did that win in France take so much out of the players that they’ve hit the wall?

We don't have a functioning 6. KL struggled to impact the game, MC understandably tired & still produced. The defensive display we served up today after the last game is inexcusable. Struggling to understand why RS played a high line but then again it's worked for the majority of the season 1/2

Think we need to have a serious conversation about the lack of mental fortitude within this squad. 5-2 x2, and today 4-2. So poor from everyone involved, heads drop so fast. To undue all the work that was done to turn the season 👊 such an unprofessional performance. We need some fresh hungry blood

Also if your back line lack so much confidence in your backup keeper that they fall apart when they’re playing, that’s a sign of your back line being mentally weak, not solely your keeper.

It’s never one or the other, it’s always an ‘and’.

Feels a little underplayed, conceding 4 against a team who’ve never scored against us at their ground

And the lack of ability to respond with even a consolation when there’s a 3 goal deficit

Losing is one thing but this has been pretty insulting, the standards HAVE to be higher for Arsenal
