Same!!! I was very charmed by the cast too. Apparently the guy who plays Kamehameha was not an actor but a farmer. They really found the right guy to play him, haha.

If you like more adult and violent shows should give the show "Chief of War" a go. It's on Apple TV and takes place on the Hawaiian islands a few decades after they had their first run in with white settlers. Polynesian history drama at its best + The cast is wonderful!

I loved Moana 2 - not gonna lie - watched it so often already - but I'm glad it didn't get nominated for an oscar cause Disney can do BETTER. And they should do better. Get Lin-Manuel back on board for 3 and I think the overall quality of the movie is gonna be so much better.

I liked it a lot. If you are expecting "Cinema" - maybe you'll be disappointed. If you're expecting a fun adventure movie (a la Pirates of the Carribean but more for kids), you're in for a fun evening!

Disney dropped "Can I get a cheehoo" from Moana 2 on youtube - which is just an excuse for me to go over all the shots and have a little laugh at how fun the animations are.

Was so happy when my nephew asked me to see Moana 2 with him in cinemas. (I had already seen it twice at that point.) I took him to see the first movie when he was 5 - so to have this teen ask to go see the sequel with me again was heartwarming. He loved it! He's turning into a big fan of the Rock.

Yeah - agreed - I love Moana 2, don't get me wrong, (I mean it's my profile pic) but I love it like I love Star Wars or Marvel movies - it's just content now of characters I love to return to over and over. Flow and the Wild Robot are the only two movies I wanted to see win.

I live for this. I love how he lassoed the sun in the final version. Would have been fun seeing Moana do some literal heavylifting during this scene.

When Maui pulls a frigging island out of the ocean in Moana 2 - I will be honest, I felt very very weak.

When your bestie is both happy to see you and terrified you're walking to your death. (And is being quite right about it too...) Moana 2 is at its best when Moana and Maui are reunited. Can't wait for Moana 3! (Thanksgiving 2026, maybe?)
