At my next gate just as boarding begins! And ordered the WTYP You're Boeing To Die (parody don't sue) shirt as a reward for not dying

Apparently we were too close to another plane! On the ground now, and the only trouble likely is having a hard time making my connection that's meant to be boarding in about 20 mins.

This is because while we were descending to land we ended up changing directions and going back up. A flight attendant said something about bad weather and visibility. But then the pilot came on.

Because I was on a Boeing 737 (-900, not -max) I listened to that episode. After this flight, the 737 is right up there as the likeliest way I'm going to die on a plane

Heading back to the lower 48, per band new tradition, listening to @wtyppod.bsky.social airplane disaster episodes to keep me at the edge of my seat.

This time at the University of Alaska Fairbanks I busted my butt falling on ice on some stairs. For the next several days I carried around a pillow to sit on. Until I busted my butt on ice on some stairs again and a friend who stopped to help me up said "too bad you didn't fall on that pillow"

KAL Flight 007: Extremely unlikely - I'm flying to Alaska, not away from it.
