If you use Firefox, and weren't aware, there's now AI stuff baked in.

'Remove chatbot' gets rid of it, but no doubt it's lurking under the hood somewhere.

It's quite mad how the tech companies force this stuff on us when nobody has asked for it.

This has been a consistent finding of studies going back pre-pandemic, IIRC. Ridehail slightly increased car ownership & VMT in metros. Same for the growth of delivery services by Uber et al.

As Glenn Mercer points, out deriving this from US gov stats isn't easy as Uber is ~noise (~1%) aggregate.

What would really unlock the Epstein scandal is finding out why Acosta cut that insane plea deal.

Epstein plead to soliciting a minor. Which is bad. But not nearly as bad as what he was doing. And so the world acted accordingly. Some times in ignorance, some times with greed and cynicism.

Elon Musk is a white nationalist. Anyone who needs more data points to reach this conclusion is beyond help or persuasion.

If you buy, rent, service, or supercharge a Tesla you are supporting the most powerful white nationalist on earth. Period.

European company cars typically come with a fuel card, so people were actually incentivised not to charge.

Those were European studies where a large fraction of the PHEV customer base are companies seeking a tax benefit from buying the car but not installing any chargers because there's no tax incentive for that.

I do think it's important to remark that Waymo is settling a LOT of cases with NDAs, especially irt bikers. It has a lot of trouble with people on bikes.

A someone who has written extensively about the eugenic roots that permeates those who claim to be building so-called artificial general intelligence, I'm here to tell you to please NOT compare criticism against corporations claiming to build a machine god, with eugenics. The audacity.

In Europe, the relevant group is the ACEA. In North America, it's the AAI.

Hyundai haven't been as vocal, but their strategy is almost identical to Toyota's. Electrification targets focussing on hybrids with no specific BEV goals and ongoing FCEV development.

All of them. Whenever BEV mandates are up for debate, you'll find submissions from a local automotive industry lobby group with Hyundai as a signatory. Toyota usually gets the headlines but all manufacturers are lobbying against BEV mandates.

Toyota ProAce Verso. Not a lot of Toyota DNA in that vehicle, it's a Stellantis van with a Toyota badge.

Some of those are actually in production. Are you an American who thinks Toyota's only BEV is the bZ4X?

Waymo have only superficially been the good actor in a rotten industry. The emphasis on blaming other drivers for their incidents has always demonstrated their shallow understanding of safety engineering.

Same McKinsey that claim car companies are going to make BILLIONS from subscriptions and connected car features.

GM (amongst others) believed it so much they've stated, to shareholders, it'll be worth $25BN by 2030.

Unfortunately, they all forgot we own a device called a "phone".
