I see that and of course I understand. It just hurts to be saddled with the stupidity and evil of my whole country as an individual. I think I will be staying away from commenting on any political posts by Canadians on Bluesky based on people's responses to me here.

What is "something other than protest"? I also wish my reps would do more but as an individual American I literally have almost no power over this situation besides my vote and my voice in protest.

I understand that. I just don't know what Canadians on this app who blame all Americans for Trump want us to say or do. It's like blaming all Russians for Putin.

Millions of Americans hate Trump and many of us have been protesting often. Please don't lump us all in with the magas. Not sure what else to do but keep protesting, even if we are being ignored.

Here's a great protest sign/piece of art I saw at a protest in Oregon yesterday. There was also a nearly life-sized orca whale puppet with a message supporting NOAA! Lots of great artists at protests.

I'm still a bit shocked that he gets away with threatening our allies this openly every day. I wish other countries felt that they could sanction the US for this because it seems pretty warranted.

I can see how that is true but I don't think it is the reason for the behavior described in the article, like forming a militia to go out and harass protestors. There are deeper issues with many Americans fundamental values that cause that kind of insanity.

I don't get the premise behind this article. There is no local newspaper so therefore the townspeople had to start only looking at poor sources of online information instead of legitimate news that is available on their phones 24/7? We have to hold people accountable for their choices.

Theoretically they have 90 days to consider whether to use military to "help" with civilian law enforcement. My only glimmer of hope is that they did not invoke the Insurrection Act last time they said they were going to do this despite all of the discussion about that.

One of the problems with this theory is that many jobs that involve doing physical work and working with your hands go unfilled and are hard to hire enough people for. Mills in Oregon are always hiring and yet people bemoan the loss of mill jobs. What gives?
