Gordon Brown sounding more eloquent, intelligent and compassionate than any current politician. Same with John Major, Ken Clarke , Tony Blair. Our political classes sound like robots now, zero empathy, zero imagination.

My family migrated from Isle of Lewis south to Newcastle ( for work), then WW2 intervened and everyone ended up scattered, some to Canada some to London, lots still in N’castle. I moved North. My view is that we are one people, one family, 2 nations bound by blood and history.

I used to enjoy Scottish Twitter full of Scottish Independence supporters ( Nats we sane people call them), posting furiously about UK flags on scottish produce and other nonsense. I miss them.

So clearly X and Bsky are now 2 distinct groups of people and for balance you need both. Not closing my X account as I think it has some valid voices there.

You might not agree with him, but does have brilliant communication skills. He is hugely popular for a reason, people like him, and he speaks up for them.
