I've always found Normal more difficult to teach though, especially standardising etc. Definitely feels more "faffy" than Binomial to me, but each to their own 🤷‍♂️

Quite a lot of Normal Distribution questions have a part b that requires using a calculated probability in a Binomial Distribution. Also, approximating a Binomial Distribution to a Normal requires knowledge of Binomial so I think doing it the other way around would be a bit messy and disjointed.

In #MathsToday I taught the same lesson 3 times, introducing the Normal Distribution to my 2 #ALevelMaths classes and also to the class of an absent colleague. One of his classes also needed to do Proof by Contradiction so I covered that one too.

In #MathsToday my #ALevelMaths classes looked at when and why the Newton-Raphson method fails. We then introduced the basic structure of a Proof by Contradiction ahead of finishing the Pure Content next week. Weekly Retrieval Quiz to finish off today's lessons.

We used it a few years ago for our 2nd year A Level students. Mixed reviews at the time, students didn't enjoy the waffle in some videos, although I gather the platform has developed and evolved since. We use @drfrostmaths.bsky.social, far more cost effective and focused on independent practice.

I prefer him on the left, if he tries things and loses the ball on the sideline, we're ok, it's when he loses it in central areas we are in more trouble. Aside from Spurs, his best game was off the left against Forest at home, looked really bright and more positive out there with space.

7 full days to prepare for a game makes a difference, we travelled to Italy and back this week which was our 4th away game in 10 days. That was our 7th game in January compared to United's 5th.

Just got to keep our noses in front until the end of April and it's ours.
