Had Schumer blocked the 6-mo CR, it would have resulted in a shutdown; it's a delusion to think the GOP would have allowed for a 30-day CR for bipartisan negotiations. Once the shutdown occurred, the White House would have eliminated funding for the courts, the only tool to push back on the WH.
