The province needs to decouple taxes from property values, and allow cities to more equitably raise revenue. Allow congestion charges, increase transit funding and decrease road widening. DCs and park $ are also a poor source to fund amenities where most new housing is infill.

Yesterday's commuting surprise, no bus service at my stop after 4pm. But since my spouse was WFH, it was annoying but survivable. Pre-WFH that would have been a full-on panic, thinking through the list of people I could call on for camp pickup.

This would require a huge restructuring for working parents with children in schools or daycare. If you are in office for 9 hours, plus your commute, you may not actually be home to see your children when they are awake.

Other cities seem to have figured it out. Or at least don't lie about it.
