It’s so disingenuous, like nobody cares at all that JD Vance has a child. The editorial board of the Chicago Tribune does not give a shit. The article should be titled “you don’t have to like Vance to go ‘oh wow ok’ when you hear he has another baby”

look we're all making a big bet on AI! and if it pays off as big as we hope, well, it's going to make a handful of people super rich and you're going to lose your job but get to watch mickey mouse fuck geralt from the witcher. if it doesn't pay off well then you get to pay for the bailouts

"rich asshole says something" just shouldn't be news.

if elon just hired an Inverse Jester (guy hired to listen to his jokes and pretend they're funny) we could solve every problem except how to keep the inverse jester from killing himself

The highest-ranking Democrat in the House went on to explain the concept as, "When you work hard and play by the rules in the United States of America, there should be no ceiling to the success that you can achieve."
The idea posits that everyone should have the government's support to pursue the American Dream without limiting the success available to those already at the top.

It is *lunacy* for the ostensibly liberal opposition party to say we shouldn't limit any individual's wealth and power after watching a cadre of fascist billionaires systematically destroy this country. That's probably the single most important thing we *must* do!

No one has scammed and beclowned the human race like cats. "Aww she's sitting on me" she's sapping your energy. "Aww she's purring" she's communicating with the devil, her father in hell

Elon Musk is worse at hiding it but this is the problem with all billionaires: they are a threat to democratic governance. They have an insatiable need to own and control everything. If you want to be free you have to curb their power, and demand political leaders who understand that

women love wearing big stupid glasses these days. i would say men too if that was true, but it’s not. so it’s objectively not an attack on women’s appearances. to simply observe they’re wearing big tube tvs on their head

(not that many forms of Zionism-in-Theory have been historically defensible, either, but it's a morally gray vs. morally black situation)

see, most people don't give a shit about Zionism-in-Theory anymore though, it's actually pretty reasonably viewed as a distraction from Zionism-in-Practice nowadays

that is genuinely so far off the mark I'm actually a little impressed. it's like someone asked you to describe a square and you painted a vivid word picture of the concept of time.

In true communism, every shares the same save file. Nobody beats the game unless everybody beats the game, comrade.

well, that's not fair. he didn't come up with the name, the KMT and the original RoC both precede their loss of the Civil War. they just kept using the same Republic of China name because they were pretending it was the exiled continuation of the same legitimate government.

The only part that the Pan-Green coalition has to "agree with" is that Taiwan is part of One China; it doesn't have to assert the legitimacy of either side in particular. That phrasing has its origins in the laughable KMT idea that they were the legitimate government of all of China, though.

Texas would probably make more sense for an analogy, or even California. I don't think Alabama was ever independent

I thought it was what the government "agrees with"? Rather than what their official policy was. And like, they'll agree with contradictory things, depending on the context

i mean it was named by the KMT military dictator who turned it into the base for his insane "government-in-exile," kinda doubt the DPP is especially fond of the name but I haven't asked

because they're the coalitional leaders of the current "Taiwanese government," and they espouse a different position than the "founders" of modern "Taiwan" did or their party still does domestically. but for foreign relations they stick to the 1-China-2-Systems line everyone agreed to before the 90s

I think at this point the Taiwanese government specifically holds three contradictory positions that it can switch between depending on who they're contacting

Oh I didn't even think of that. I think there could be a gender thing going on there, but if there is a difference, I don't think it helps that she poses as a "centrist" who's always pitching the idea of broadcasting insipid one-on-one discussions as if they're revolutionary. Almost everyone else

do you think I'm in favor of this shit lol? I'm just saying they're either not even monkey-level competent at using it, or it's somehow costing them so much per "finished" shot that it's not worth it to re-roll with an extra detail for correct clothes
