I'm begging you to see with a little more nuance here. Even in your own words you agree the Republicans are a hard no, and you believe you can pressure and reform the Democrats. That's an incredibly important distinction.

What is the solution then? How do you solve this problem? You wont vote for a Republican. You wont vote for a Democrat. A third party doesn't have a chance of winning. You just want everyone to throw their hands up and accept the facists?

This is why I'm confused by your position - which appears to be that you'd rather enable fascists than vote for the party that enabled fascists.

Because if the Democrats lose, the Republicans win.

But lets also be clear eyed about this. People have been trying to lift up a third party for generations and it hasn't happened yet.

We are in a time of major flux in both parties, so maybe now is the time.

Star Trek has always played pretty fast and lose with science. It's there to support the story and narrative and get out of the way when it doesn't.

The show is famous for it's technobabble for when they just want to hand wave something.

Actually low key my interpretation of NVIDIA announcing that it's halting production of video cards is that they know the AI industry is going to burst and they don't want to end up with a market flooded with over production. They're ramping down now to combat that.

AI guys and Silicon Valley nut jobs I can understand. But I will never understand what convinced otherwise fairly conservative computer chip manufacturers to go all in on a market they know is fictional burning every other bridge in the process.

Chief Burger Officers across the restaurant industry say that 75% of their meals are burgers - they can't get enough. Non-Management Burger sellers tell a different story, almost no one is buying burgers.

I don't know what you're not understanding. Burgvidia has to increase the prices on it's burger buns because OpenBurger has pinkie promised to buy tons and tons of buns because of all of the demand for Burgers it claims will appear in 18 months.

As far as I can tell the consensus among people selling AI products is that AI will replace all jobs any day now and the consensus among independent market researchers is that AI hasn't even come close to achieving any of it's current goals or claimed gains.

An article headline reads "Microsoft AI chief gives it 18 months - for all white-collar work to be automated by AI"

Every article like this sounds exactly like "Burger King's Burger Chief predicts all food will become burgers in 18 months"

Oh I think that's absolutely the case. I see a ton of younger people enjoying the heck out of the show and seeing their enjoyment of it is what's helping me find enjoying me in. I don't need the show to be for me.
