It's a good idea to wear a mask when you go get coffee or go to the library. It's a really fucking good idea when you're going to a room full of 100,000 people from all over the world.

I just get so pissed off seeing people trying to avoid this shit get infected because for some inscrutable reason most people don't give a shit. I also wish I could go to these things and sell my games without it being a risk that is heightened by the vast majority of my peers.

one person wearing a mask goes a long way to preventing their illness but it's not infallible. if everyone wore one? and did so deliberately and with proper mask hygiene? we could make it so that people don't need to take this huge risk just to go to a show that should be about fun and community

maskless at a public gathering is RFK and anti vaxer behavior. you're closer to them than you are to behaving in any sort of moral or scientifically advisable way. you're helping spread a virus that continues to kill and disable people every day! and it's so easy to collectively prevent!

at least at conventions. what the fuck are we doing? why have we collectively embraced a right wing covid position that used to get you laughed out of the room?
