Oh I forgot to say. This is Lithium Sunset from last summer. A delicious new variety to me.

It’s Tomato Tuesday and it’s raining here so I’ve been baking a sourdough and making leek and potato soup (with added onion and chillies. All homegrown) There’s something so satisfying about feeding your family with good food you’ve grown and prepared yourself. Wouldn’t you agree ??

Yes your recollection is correct as the land was ‘allotted’ that way in the 1700’s and the name was eventually used for the gardening allotments I believe
