Was making a point in another thread, that well meaning cis people often make mistakes (I have) and need to unlearn the transphobic language that saturates the news.

Changing the behaviour of those with the power to influence is the goal. Good letter here from @tacc.org.uk

Besides learning critical thinking, you also learn from the diversity of students, and professors. Having close contact with different views, cultures, people, etc. really helps broaden your understanding of yourself, others, and society.

Like most labels, "transmasc" and "transfem" can be useful, but only if a person feels the label is right for them. Labels shouldn't be forced on others, but they should be used to find and describe yourself in a way that feels right.

Kabinet trekt tóch wetsvoorstel nieuwe Transgenderwet in. Dit is onacceptabel.

Vandaag liet staatssecretaris Struycken weten dat het kabinet tóch het wetsvoorstel voor een betere Transgenderwet gaat intrekken. Eerder had het kabinet juist aangegeven dit niet te willen doen.
Dat ze nu juist als demissionair kabinet besluiten dit wetsvoorstel toch in te trekken is ongehoord.
