13.06.2024 23:08 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0dear journals: doing one peer review for you does not mean I've signed up to do one peer review every other week for you.
27.05.2024 12:20 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0sometimes I wonder about my choice to leave a mainstream academic path. then I remember I almost never work on weekends anymore, and also that when I left my old institution I then did *free work* (supervision/review) for them for a full year after.

22.04.2024 19:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A fun fact about me is that if someone asks for an article of mine and I send it and never hear back I assume they hate it (and me) ๐

28.12.2023 16:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I get that being concise is important, but also... at what point are we completely losing the story of research in favour of simply presenting raw results?

22.12.2023 14:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I've stopped "getting credit" for peer reviews on tracking sites for a few reasons: 1. there are a bunch & they don't consolidate. 2. they suggest this "raises your profile as a reviewer." I've no interest in raising my profile as a reviewer. I like reviewing but I don't need to do more free labour.
20.12.2023 13:20 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0what if I told you you did not need to justify your qualitative research by throwing numbers into it?
