Was kayaking at William Switzer Park west of #yeg on Cache Lake. We were watching a loon with two chicks when the loon goes ape. Suddenly, an osprey with a fish zooms into view with a bald eagle right on its ass and the fight is on!

It has been a slow decade of people being struck by cyclists, and dying, so going halfway across the country to sensationalize such an occurance is pounced on. I wonder how many people between Toronto and Calgary have been hit and killed by car drivers this year? Why hasn't @thestar.com reported it?

From an upper management perspective, layoffs are an easy way to briefly juice a struggling stock price. Toss in the fact you can also get rid of annoying employees who question you?
Win win.
It's one of the biggest unspoken issues with media layoffs.
I once compared notes with friends post-layoff. We realized we had almost all pushed back on editors and/or questioned management decisions.
Do we really want our newsrooms to be full of those who blindly accept authority? I don't.
While Toronto Ontario doesn't even want to allow 6-Plex residential buildings, Georgetown #HaltonHills, on the west side of the GTA, is swinging for the fence with a new mid-rise. The downtown business owners must be licking their chops.

I rode 75 kms from Georgetown this morning, to Toronto, and toured around a bit, to participate in the #BikeTO Victory Rally and Ride in recognition of the court's ruling to prevent removal of bike lanes. At 361 University Ave now for 17:30 start. Had coffee on Bloor too 😁

Our client @cycletoronto.bsky.social won and the Bloor, Yonge and University bike lanes will stay in place, to keep bike riders safe, without slowing down vehicles, by the way.

Among the numerous #BikeTO protest efforts in support of the cause was this one that I attended, and produced a 15 minute video from the footage I gathered.

Finland's capital achieves zero VRU deaths through lower speed limits, safe infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists, and enforcement. #VisionZero 👏👏👏

If you know someone that is intending to vote for Pierre Poilievre in that by-election ... tell them because his name is difficult to spell they just have to write in PP and their ballot and it won't be rejected 😁

Where would the world be right now without trump's peace-making skills !
How many people opposing shelters in the name of children’s safety push for less cars, lower speed limits, road safety?
How many kids were harmed by unhoused people last year compared to drivers?
If your matting is a mix of carbon and fiberglass it might save a wee bit but the resin is heavy.
I helped refurbish an old canvass canoe once, stripped it to the ribs, then redid it with fiberglass. It became a beast of burden when portaging.

But then I read headlines like this and think ... n'ah.
On the other hand Ontario is becoming so much more regressive that it might be a good option.
