It's more of an indictment on how they view the talent. Tomlin is willing to take a risk on guys with perceived baggage (AB, LeVeon, hell not saying it's fair but Brian Flores) if their upside or ability is really good. Them not taking Shedeur simply shows they don't think he's that talented

What's my point? Religion to many of these people is just cover. It's a means to an end. They don't actually care about its teachings, they will take bits and pieces to support their hatred and worldview. And to be clear: that's not to take away from religion, which can bring genuine community.
