Just another MAMIL. To be found slowly pedalling around South Oxfordshire. I'm occasionally allowed to leave the county on good behaviour.

Is that the old railway tunnel on the outskirts of Bath? Itโ€™s quite an experience!

Let me guess: one of the motorists involved is probably thinking โ€œThat cyclist shouldnโ€™t have been thereโ€โ€ฆ

Hmmmmโ€ฆ.thats not quite a โ€œrounding errorโ€! ๐Ÿ˜€

Thatโ€™s a decent amount of climbing there. Not surprised youโ€™ve got some achey bits!

FFS!

Iโ€™ve just driven back from Woburn, and the impatience of some motorists is just so sad.

Good afternoon from Center Parcs.

Managed 10k looping round the site, trying to burn-off yesterdayโ€™s visit to the Pancake House! ๐Ÿ˜€

Quite hilly here so some climbing to test the legs.

Needs must!

Ugh, I found that article heavy-going, and skipping to the end it seems Team Orange are on thin ice!
The free version of the Strava app has been bloody annoying for months, with ceaseless plugs for membership. Iโ€™m hardly rooting for them at this point.

But how will you know where to go? You might never get home.
How will you know what you max. speed was?

Yes. And occasionally, when Iโ€™m clad in Lycra, my thoughts are โ€œDoes my bum look big in this?โ€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Thank you - good advice for sure! Mustnโ€™t let my innate โ€œanalysis paralysisโ€ get in the way!

I recall the story on TV of a vicar in his 90s, with arthritis, that made the trip some years ago. I really need to pull my finger out and get to it - no excuses!

Best regards.

What a great little read that was! ๐Ÿ‘ I think I enjoyed your blog far more than all those YouTube videos on that ride.
Iโ€™d very much like to do LEJOG in the next few years and your story got the brain chewing over plans again!

Lovely.

Not jealous at all! ๐Ÿ˜€

Yes! Now, Iโ€™d see those steps as an annoyance, then enjoying the challenge of overcoming the obstacle. But good job Iโ€™m not on a recumbent or something.

I took that pic on Farm Hill at 17.10. Must have just missed you going the other way!

Finally got a ride in today after almost two weeks. Was all over the place getting ready - forgot to fill the bidons, then almost set off โ€œsans helmetโ€. ๐Ÿคฆ
Nice circuit though, over some of my favourite roads.
(L) Goring lock, (R) Farm Hill, above Cholsey.

๐Ÿ‘ I do like that trail! I think itโ€™s a gentle down-hill south out of Princes Risborough on the old railway. Makes for some easy miles. When I did it this year there was lots of weaving around other users.

Iโ€™d find that โ€œledgeโ€ section somewhat dizzying - probably end up bowling over the sheep! What a great place though.

Barely any cycling this past fortnight ๐Ÿ˜ž as weโ€™ve been busy working in the house. Sad to say my โ€œheritageโ€ tape measure from Do It All (remember them?) did not make it out alive! ๐Ÿ˜€

I like the way the map seems to kinda give up part way through the name!

Have you learnt how to say that ridiculous railway station name in north Wales yet? Presumably youโ€™ve passed the course once youโ€™ve mastered it? ๐Ÿ˜€

23.09.2025 06:51 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Interesting article. I still recoil when one suddenly appears - a life long wariness of those pincers, even though Iโ€™ve never been grabbed by one of them!

21.09.2025 07:07 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Now thatโ€™s a familiar situation! ๐Ÿ˜€ Daddy long-legs produce the same reaction too for some reason.

That looks a nice circuit and sorry to hear you had an "off". I've done bits of that, especially around Goring/the Stokes and agree about better suited to MTB in the wet. The Thames path is a bit hairy in palces too with drop bars (probably more to do with my inexperience tho'!).

Good on you for running. I tried that a few years ago - genuinely enjoyed it but but my knees just couldn't take the beating.
