The feds already give over 35 million a year to BC government for this. Simply a matter of increasing that amount until you're happy.

That first good scratching after they're out is just divine. 23 years ago, and I can still feel it.

It's not the policies that make her good, it's her ability to implement them without losing her job. Navigating the politics of it all is by far the hardest part. The more competent in Russian government usually get ursuped by the more corrupt.

For a small, open, floating drydock, a traditional arrangement would likely be preferred. If a stationary and fully enclosed dock is desired then lifting is the better way to go.

Length/Beam is quite high, I think a small bow thruster is appropriate.

This is a photo with the spillways open. That is only done when the dam is too full.

On large passenger ships that's how it is. People feel nauseous but tell themselves they'll be fine, until that first whiff of puke is in the air.

For ROV equipment or similar, deployment would be over the stern with the A-Frame. How equipment gets there is unclear. I served on two vessels of similar vintage and operation profiles so my guess is there's a door between the hatch tween deck and quarter deck for that purpose.

The extra cables are the guy wires for that derrick. It's range of motion is over 180 degrees and to permit that the guy wires have to swing right. There's no room to land anything on the deck there. Watching the video there's nothing in that area, just some people hanging out.

I don't think there is an object on the aft deck here, it's just the arrangement of the mushroom vent/stairs/coaming that's playing tricks with our eyes. There's no room to land anything there.

That derrick is right over the aft hatch so the deckhands are just not bothering to stow it proper. They just hook something on deck and put a bit of tension on so it won't swing. I'd guess 5 ton rating from dimensions. It deploys the RHIB, which is 1-2 ton.

And measles is so contagious that the vaccines are around 90% effective, making it one of the most reliant on herd immunity effects.

@covertshores.bsky.social a short write up, but this is my first time seeing a picture of it so detailed. Apparently the one pictured above is the -150 variant, but there are also larger versions in the works.
