Just for info: the current inequality in wealth in the US virtually matches the inequality in France just before their revolution in 1789.

They had a solution (below).

Why do you think Trump is building his private army?

Bullies gain power when their misconduct succeeds in causing righteous people to yield in the face of wrongdoing. That’s why voting for Trump's continuing resolution - without any protection against his health care cuts or his growing illegality - is a mistake.

I voted NO.

Senate Democrats are useless and cowardly. Not even close to meeting or understanding the moment. And just because you voted against The Cave doesn’t get you off the hook unless you call for Schumer’s resignation as Democratic leader by tomorrow.

I don’t care if Schumer voted no. If he’s unable to wrangle the caucus, he’s not an effective leader. I’ll continue to push for the caucus to elect a new one.

Senator Murray Statement on Government Funding Vote: β€œThe Fight for Health Care Does Not End Tonightβ€”This is the MAGA Health Care Hike” | United States Senate Committee on Appropriations United States Senate Committee on Appropriations

I voted NO. As long as there is still any time left to reverse the MAGA health care hike, I believe we should do everything we can to force Republicans to the negotiating table.

The fight for health care does not end tonight.

This is a bad deal, and the old way of doing things is clearly not working.

We need new leaders in the Senate.

I'd like for someone in the dem caucus to tell us which senators were real no votes and which ones voted no because they were allowed to.

80% of Democratic voters want a new leader in the Senate.

Does that matter at all to Democratic senators?

Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. That’s how this works.

As for the retiring D Senators, doing their colleagues this favor now serves their interest in post-retirement lobbying access and influence. 3/

Doesn’t matter that Schumer voted β€œno”. He got the Dem caucus on board with caving. THEN the caucus figured out who should vote yes to provide cover for D Sens up for reelection in 2026, who might have been in serious danger of being primaried. 2/

Only way to know which Democratic Senators genuinely opposed this monumentally bad cave would be if they were to demand Schumer step down as leader immediately. 4/4
