Yeah I know when the top looks down at the skill of mid or even high level players it doesn’t seem like something worth engaging with but the population of players who ARE competing at the top is choked and tiny compared to the players who COULD compete at the top; we need to bridge the gap.

OUR LOW LEVEL COMMUNITY IS SO FUCKING GOOD GUYS and while midlevel still needs some work to make it more playable, the end reward for people at that level being a suck-up rat race to +3 is doing no one any favors.

There are some players that are inherently egotistical or unserious when engaging with the community, but there’s a whole subset of players that have learned that behavior from it being the loud minority among the in-crowd.

The + server is the root cause of the West being so much worse than JP. Player Skill Mobility, or the ability to “climb the ladder” is what fuels top level development and creating exclusionary circlejerk clubs that stroke ego more than they assist learning is a tragic failure of the concept.

Not unless your connection is already bad. I’ve DC’d maybe once ever and the lag is never unmanageable. S-blasts will hit slightly more BS shots tho but like… that’s fine

A lot of games vs Shadowwind’s tent which was fun and I feel like I had an epiphany about prioritizing teamplay in X (see last post)

My goal for this season was originally 3k but I think I’ll push for 31 given this opportunity

X is a solo mode but playing together is not a concept only relegated to comp; there are patterns in how people play and how maps flow that you can and SHOULD learn while grinding.

You can't do this alone, so learn to play together with people halfway across the globe

The most glaring observation from SWS was that JP teams made the West look like comm-less solo queue players by comparison when looking at team fighting and general connectivity throughout a match. This isn't JUST JP having better teams, it's also a mentality difference you can SEE in high XP tako

This is NOT talking about mechanics and solo-play, although still important; It's talking about your individual ability to coordinate...

I think there’d be more dapple players if people knew what to play with it; how it slots into comps or just how to play around it.

I personally am really interested in seeing it as the 40 damage chip pair to 96 as opposed to running decav. Decav + 96 has always seemed really awkward to me from a special POV but cooler/kraken + missiles seems a ton better than cooler/kraken + bubble.

maaaaaaan I don't like the + servers, think it's feasible to just ping for a high level scrim here in the future? On Bluesky? Is that too hopeful?

ok nvm I just watched EVERY single game from that scrim and this didnt happen even ONCE despite my memory telling me it happened almost every game. I guess I hallucinated it??????

Need to study my micro-positioning on pen. Basil like no exaggeration had a pencil with more range than mine that scrim; there's gotta be somethin I'm missing that'll make these pen contests feel more even and less insurmountable

...what weapons have been played on comps with a zap in order to determine why it was worth it, because at this point it's pretty universally agreed upon that zap on its own is significantly worse than pen. The important part is if its being used to enable backless or liter comps or whatever.

...to a more apt cooler weapon has a slight edge. Edit being really low is extremely interesting and I think it's related to slosher and s-blast's dominance, as I believe edit to me a much worse pairing for those dominant options.

Zap can't be looked at in a vacuum and I'd instead like to see...

Great stat compilation but some of the conclusions are a lil off. Pen's winrate being within 5 points of 50% wr in either direction is just indicative of its pick rate more than its success. All 48% implies is that on most maps it's a pen v pen and on specific maps the team that counterpicks...

Im really sorry to report that Hedit is by no means "off-meta" (tho it does support off-meta comps pretty well)

The issue isnt them it's that we have this exclusive hub for getting strong players better practice and half the people that get in don't care about that. The amount of people in the + server isnt necessarily limited but it isnt a large group either. The people satisfied with +3 dont practice.
