After the snooze, we settled on our home for the night and made safe space for the chaotic feelings they had. Coregulation is a way of finding safety and belonging in recovery. Being trauma informed is allowing us to travel as a family. Slowing down is worth it.

My child has a lot of challenges with internalized beliefs that stem from trauma. They are 15, and we travelled to Portugal from Canada this week. When everything was too much we stopped and found a quiet park to rest in, over looking the river. Curled up like the little one they are in my lap.
