12.02.2026 00:36 β π 24 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0The Westmoreland Museum of American Art has a new immersive experience that tells the story of Pittsburgh by dropping you right into paintings of the city since the early 1800s. It is one of most beautiful museum experiences Iβve ever seen. It grabbed my breath. The museum is free. Not an ad.
11.02.2026 17:35 β π 30 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0Literally don't know how to act.
This has been a Pittsburgh weather post ππ€οΈ
50 degrees?? Hellmouth opening somewhere on Route 28 next week for sure.
09.02.2026 21:38 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's 31 degrees outside, Dorito. I'm personally already melting in this heatwave π
09.02.2026 21:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We generally read the very broad category of book club fiction but there has honestly been no book in the last three years that we all loved. At best we get to "it wasn't bad" or "I liked it." And we generally dislike our book picks more than we like them. We're the worst (but also the best haha)
08.02.2026 14:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Well I need to visit this ASAP. I don't struggle with SAD, but I've just about had it with this winter's snow and bitter cold. Done!
08.02.2026 13:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I hate when it's my turn to pick a bookclub book because I only read non-fiction history books while we generally read fiction. Please help me by recommending outstanding fiction you've recently read that would spark discussion. If you're in a bookclub, what have you read recently that was good?
08.02.2026 13:43 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 15 π 0Magical! I was not blessed by one
05.02.2026 01:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today in like one block on the North Side, it was folding chair, bar stool, dining room chair, folding chair, baby gate, bar stool, step stool, folding chair. Championship snow behavior. No notes.
04.02.2026 23:22 β π 35 π 2 π¬ 3 π 0And kudos to Axios and @ryandeto.bsky.social for covering it

Can someone explain to me why the Post-Gazette has zero coverage of the Oakmont dad detained and still imprisoned by ICE despite having a valid work visa, Real ID, SSN, driverβs license and no criminal record? Kudos to the Trib for their ongoing coverage.
03.02.2026 14:30 β π 34 π 8 π¬ 4 π 0Pittsburghers who have a problem with Bad Bunny because heβs Puerto Rican, I must ask you, what the hell would you say to Roberto Clemente? Would you tell him heβs un-American too? Do you even hear yourselves?
03.02.2026 03:27 β π 72 π 11 π¬ 3 π 0I read the headline βIce Halts All Traffic on Pittsburgh Riversβ and I had a momentary burst of anger before I was like, βOh, you mean like frozen water? Carry on then.β
02.02.2026 18:27 β π 67 π 7 π¬ 3 π 0Both have jobs, 5-year work visas, Real IDs, driverβs licenses, Social Security numbers, and no criminal record. Why would anyone other than a complete racist support this?

Yes exactly
31.01.2026 13:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As a historian, one of the most surprising things I learned is that a stretch of brutal winters contributed to the mass hysteria that led to the Salem Witch Trials. I just want to say to my 1690 brethren β¦ I get it now. What else can you do when itβs this cold but lose your whole mind?
31.01.2026 12:56 β π 34 π 2 π¬ 4 π 1Pittsburgh has built an entire culture around the answer being, βYes, you jagoff.β
30.01.2026 12:26 β π 41 π 8 π¬ 6 π 0If you understand the Pittsburgh giving community and their approach to the current arts environment, you understand that City Theatreβs board made a big mistake. Mark it down and throw this in my face later if Iβm wrong. They should have voted to merge. triblive.com/aande/theate...

25.01.2026 23:39 β π 33 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Reminder that the last I checked, Pittsburgh has around 46 fewer working snow plows than are needed to adequately clear the city streets during normal snowfall. This storm is going to expose that shortage in new ways and I expect this week to be a huge test for our new mayor.
24.01.2026 02:21 β π 39 π 13 π¬ 1 π 2Best inside joke ever. Get a bowl of rice
23.01.2026 13:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Dottie was also making a whole crock pot full of mashed potatoes to go with it. Those two are going to be eating chili for weeks
23.01.2026 13:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Giant Eagle said sales of chili ingredients had spiked in prep for the storm. Yesterday I stopped by my mom and dadβs house and if that woman wasnβt in the middle of making a MASSIVE pot of chili for two people who generally eat like birds. ππ€
23.01.2026 13:05 β π 40 π 1 π¬ 4 π 1Survival requires a whole new operating and revenue model and it requires desire, commitment and creativity from ownership. The Blocks no longer, if ever, had any of that. We need to wrestle it from their hands and nurture it to life. If they keep it, it dies. The end.
22.01.2026 19:38 β π 13 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In the race to save the Post-Gazette between the picket-line crossers who have indicated their desire to appease the Blocks versus the proposed nonprofit model led by Kevin Acklin, I'm about to ask to be President of Team Acklin.
