I hope we can get more protections for lecturers -- especially pre-continuing lecturers -- so no one has to feel the chronic stress of ongoing employment precarity. Sunshining is a legally mandated meeting that takes place before the start of collective bargaining negotiations. Reps from UC-AFT and UC management put forward proposals for the new contract. The public is allowed to comment on the contract and larger issues at stake.
