I think ‘unhappy’ is interesting. It relates (for me) to the bottomless pit of NEED in someone so empty and narcissistic. It simply cannot be addressed or assuaged, even by toadying sycophants… and that way lies profound unhappiness? And maybe a desire to hurt everyone.
