Fingers crossed! In my case it was the bedroom that flooded (pipe burst in the neighbour’s unit and water came through) so I was able to close it off as well, except for the cat learning to open doors so he could let himself into the sauna…

Ugh, I had a burst pipe about 18 months ago and it’s no fun, plus I’m sure the heat the dehumidifiers put out is even worse in summer. It was January and the temp was getting up into the 30s in my condo. Good luck getting it all sorted out!

Walked out of a store on Robson St. in Vancouver and straight into a man who was coming along the sidewalk. First thought was that I was suddenly looking into the biggest, bluest eyes I've ever seen, and then it registered that he was Elijah Wood.

There seem to be a lot of very lopsided ones today! Yesterday almost all of them were super close.

Nope, the pattern hadn’t even been released yet! I knew I wanted it to be a summer dress and I had a couple of possibilities in mind, then this pattern came out a couple of months ago and I knew it was the one.

My favourite sundress ever is complete! This is the #WaverleyDress made using some embroidered cotton voile that I bought in Paris last year. The ruffle is a serious fabric hog, but it’s super twirly and I love it! #GarmentSewing #VancouverSews

I left that sub ages ago…I get that it’s snark and there are definitely patterns that deserve criticism but they’re just so overwhelmingly negative and humourless

It’s starting to come together! Main bodice is assembled, with pockets of course. Straps are done and just need to be attached, then I need to put on the ruffle and assemble and attach the lining

Totally! It’s a very lightweight semi-sheer cotton, so I’m lining it with a cotton voile that will keep everything light and airy, but the two layers combined are fairly opaque

Yeah. I guess at least they’re self aware enough to recognize that it’s weird and embrace it, and honestly that’s an attitude I’m good with even if in this case it means that any of their material drives me up the wall

It’s a weird thing that publication does. I don’t know the history, but for some reason instead of either using say, cooperate or co-operate, you know, standard spelling, they use the dots and it’s super distracting

I didn’t buy the fabric intending for them to match, but it definitely was an oh right, those go together perfectly moment when I was going through my closet to decide what to wear.
