05.08.2025 03:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm so torn on this one! Terry Fox is, well, Terry Fox, but the flag somehow manages to be awesome despite breaking pretty much every design rule and including a Union Jack...
31.07.2025 23:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0on one hand, some folks online are being a tad uncharitable at the refurbished Granville Street Bridge's public spaces being in an interim state
on the other hand, if you do a political ribbon cutting ceremony after two years and $54 million, you're gonna get dunked on if this is the first result
If you do not actually spend money at the cute local businesses you love, those businesses will go away.
29.07.2025 02:17 β π 482 π 65 π¬ 12 π 7I live near Fraser st, and people in my buy nothing group keep putting their location as x ave and Frasier, drives me bonkers
22.07.2025 17:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Probably doesn't matter because orca will take the quadrant, but sockeye vs spirit bear next week is already stressing me out!
22.07.2025 06:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fingers crossed! In my case it was the bedroom that flooded (pipe burst in the neighbourβs unit and water came through) so I was able to close it off as well, except for the cat learning to open doors so he could let himself into the saunaβ¦
21.07.2025 00:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ugh, I had a burst pipe about 18 months ago and itβs no fun, plus Iβm sure the heat the dehumidifiers put out is even worse in summer. It was January and the temp was getting up into the 30s in my condo. Good luck getting it all sorted out!
20.07.2025 23:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Walked out of a store on Robson St. in Vancouver and straight into a man who was coming along the sidewalk. First thought was that I was suddenly looking into the biggest, bluest eyes I've ever seen, and then it registered that he was Elijah Wood.

Since I havenβt posted any cat content in a while, hereβs Baerd enjoying his catnip plant, and our neighbour is the cutest little spy
18.07.2025 00:25 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There seem to be a lot of very lopsided ones today! Yesterday almost all of them were super close.
16.07.2025 17:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I donβt expect cherries to win overall, but does this person not understand that it isnβt really summer in BC until youβve demolished an entire bag of Okanagan cherries in one sitting?
16.07.2025 04:26 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I mean, not necessarilyβ¦Baerd is hopeless with bugs, but he got our poor little mouse intruder last nightβ¦
09.07.2025 04:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Nope, the pattern hadnβt even been released yet! I knew I wanted it to be a summer dress and I had a couple of possibilities in mind, then this pattern came out a couple of months ago and I knew it was the one.

My favourite sundress ever is complete! This is the #WaverleyDress made using some embroidered cotton voile that I bought in Paris last year. The ruffle is a serious fabric hog, but itβs super twirly and I love it! #GarmentSewing #VancouverSews
08.07.2025 01:16 β π 22 π 1 π¬ 3 π 0I left that sub ages agoβ¦I get that itβs snark and there are definitely patterns that deserve criticism but theyβre just so overwhelmingly negative and humourless

-You don't go to see your sister; it has killed her.

Itβs starting to come together! Main bodice is assembled, with pockets of course. Straps are done and just need to be attached, then I need to put on the ruffle and assemble and attach the lining
01.07.2025 05:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is my potluck go to! My friends and coworkers get genuinely upset if I bring anything else.
27.06.2025 17:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Totally! Itβs a very lightweight semi-sheer cotton, so Iβm lining it with a cotton voile that will keep everything light and airy, but the two layers combined are fairly opaque

I have possibly my most ridiculous sewing project to date in progress. For reference, thatβs 3m of fabric, and the long pattern piece is half of a skirt ruffle, and it will be the floofiest sundress ever! #GarmentSewing #VancouverSews

14.06.2025 18:35 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah. I guess at least theyβre self aware enough to recognize that itβs weird and embrace it, and honestly thatβs an attitude Iβm good with even if in this case it means that any of their material drives me up the wall
09.06.2025 19:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I decided to do a quick search, and basically itβs something they decided on in the 1920s, almost changed in 1978, then the style editor died and no one has dared raise the issue again www.newyorker.com/culture/cult...
09.06.2025 17:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Itβs a weird thing that publication does. I donβt know the history, but for some reason instead of either using say, cooperate or co-operate, you know, standard spelling, they use the dots and itβs super distracting
09.06.2025 17:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I didnβt buy the fabric intending for them to match, but it definitely was an oh right, those go together perfectly moment when I was going through my closet to decide what to wear.
