Taylor Swift's Last Album Sparked Bizarre Accusations of Nazism. It Was a Coordinated Attack Data analysis from startup GUDEA reveals inauthentic social media network that pushed false narrative about her ties to MAGA world and white supremacy

“The internet is fake,” says Keith Presley, GUDEA’s founder and CEO, only half-jokingly. He notes that some 50 percent of the web is now made up of bots. “This is something that we’ve seen escalate on our corporate side — this type of espionage, or working to damage someone’s reputation.”

No one before Sam successfully raised a child, which is why the human species went extinct in Mesopotamia. Seriously, the best way to read this is that countless billions of humans did just fine but Sam is not as competent and self-reliant as them, and that's what AI wants us to be: dependent.

This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.

LA quietly stopped repaving all streets last July to avoid fulfilling its ADA obligations. The federal govt says when you repave a street, you have to update all the curb ramps. LA has tons of out of date curb ramps, so the rule makes repaving much more expensive. The city's solution: stop repaving!

Chicago Promoted Two Police Officers After Investigators Found They Engaged in Sexual Misconduct The Chicago Police Department’s promotions system allows officers’ disciplinary records to be ignored. Despite years of reform efforts, nothing has changed.

One officer was accused of spreading a nude photo of a woman he knew.

Another was found responsible for acts of domestic violence and sexual assault.

In spite of their disciplinary records, the Chicago Police Department promoted both of them.

Here is my rant for the year and The Era:

We need to stop confusing the words “normal” and “common.”

It may seem trivial, but the differences between them are the differences between using stigmatizing language and descriptive language, they’re the whole piñata of difference.

Another tremendous cast, and I love that in each of these, Johnson and co. have a wonderful "co-lead" with Daniel Craig that gives the actor a spotlight which causes audiences to look at them in a new way: Ana de Armas, Janelle Monáe, and now Josh O'Connor.

According to Article 1(1) of the UN Convention against Torture, an act constitutes torture if four elements are

a man in a suit and tie is being touched by a man in a suit Alt: Eddie Murphy's deadpan turn to camera, breaking the fourth wall, in "Trading Places. He's wearing a black suit with a white shirt and a red tie, sitting in a chair. The Duke brothers, two white men in suits, stand on either side of him: all we can see of them is each has a hand on one of his shoulders. Murphy, as Billy Ray Valentine, goes from looking up at one of them to looking into the camera, to make sure we, the audience, appreciate the situation: the Dukes are trying to explain commodities training to Billy Ray, and "clarify" that bacon can be found in a BLT.
