Sure, I had to "work" by helping the tour guides give the 2 tours, but that work entailed holding our ghost hunting equipment between rooms, head counting to make sure we all stayed together, making sure no one opened any doors they weren't supposed to. Perks: Cool folks and cool experiences. 2/2

Volunteering can take you pretty amazing places to do pretty cool things. Last night, as the sun was setting, I got to take a small ferry boat and a tram out to a civil war era fort, where I stayed until about 1 AM. 1/2

Both honestly feel more like normal market fluctuation then any real impactful movement, especially considering Disney shares were priced at around $85 a share in April. It's not unusual for shares to drop or gain value in the dollar amounts were seeing for Disney.

I know everyone is excited about Disney shares being down and the amount of folks cancelling subs, but you've left out two players in this fight. Nexstar and Sinclair are the bad guys that put the pressure on the FCC and on ABC. Meanwhile there shares are up or even.

Today on things I watched all the way through and don't know why, but would do again.

Sometimes living and enjoying the so called normal things is in itself an act of rebellion.

One thing that bothers me tonight in particular is how so much of this is happening because of grand and sweeping capitulation by the media, by companies, by Congress, by people in power. Even when they don’t have to — they simply comply, acquiesce, and appease.

I just got offered a training opportunity to learn process automation tools at my new job. Started the job as part timer less than a year ago, since moved to full time, considered a high performer, and now I'm being offered stretch projects and learning opps. It's a nice change to feel appreciated.

And I'm done. I'm glad people like Weapons, it's just not for me personally.

I also chalk some of this up to what I call The Village Problem: a movie that shows us one thing in the trailers but becomes something so different in the final film. I went in expecting mystery and a deeper more serious film (yes I know about the interpretations people have). Instead: horror comedy

Between this and the tonal whiplash of the first and second halves of the film I'm unimpressed.

It honestly makes me wonder if I would enjoy a second watch of Barbarian as much as I enjoyed the first viewing. It feels like once the newness of the concept wore off it was less interesting.

What this review doesn't mention is that (one of) the other over the top graphic scenes of death and violence we are treated to in this film is a gay man brutally killing his husband.

So two of the worst scene we get are the deaths of people who have been othered: gays and old hags.
