Ultrafast surface melting of orbital order in La0.5Sr1.5MnO4 Nature Materials - Time-resolved surface X-ray scattering is used to probe how light manipulates orbital order at the surface of a manganite. Femtosecond light is found to generate incoherent...

Happy to announce that our latest work on measuring light induced phase transitions at a surface has been published in Nature Materials. rdcu.be/eKKBL

Mapping the Textures of Thicker Magnets A soft x-ray magnetic imaging technique makes possible the study of a wide range of magnetic materials.

A new x-ray imaging technique exploits phase information in circularly polarized light. According to its inventors, the capability opens the door to characterizing magnetic materials with applications in energy harvesting and spintronics.

At Oxford lots of people got unpaid internships at newspapers and in TV which helped a lot in getting a career in that field. Of course they were also the people who could afford to live in London for 2 months without pay
