Was just watching another random YouTube video, this one had some vision of a travelling post office. Anyway now I know where they put all the hate mail.

Here is a backlit bus video from this arvo. Not the usual subject of the lens, but it was going past. At least the headways on this route had a little improvement recently.

Was just watching a random Swiss YouTube vid and I've discovered the existence of these utterly quaint little Swiss shunting tractors.

I approve of these particular critters.

While the sign portion isn't standardised in AS1743 (although clearly derived from an R6-25 & R6-26) the twin red lights portion is in the road rules (which I admit I wasn't really aware of until I looked it up).

What's more incredible is that maintenance seem to have come out after the mast got hit and readjusted the focus on the lights. I don't know if I'm impressed or horrified.

This is a bit of a long shot - but does anyone know what sort of key or tool would open this? I had assumed it was a standard electrical thing but searches have been fruitless.

Ohh a wrong side that resulted in points moving under the train. About as bad as it gets for potential risk.

- Walking 1.2 km to school by myself, in grade 1.
- Suburban trains with non power doors.

Look we all enjoy a good corporate euphemism and this one is a doozy. You might think of it as an "extensive equipment fault" where as I prefer "loss of wheel rail proximity event"

Bad news everyone, not only has the algorithm decided I am now old to have a heart attack (not impossible, I am ancient) but apparently when you are having a heart attack it's important to think about which private hospital to use, so you can maximise those out of pocket costs.

I always find websites with this sort of thing quite silly. Especially when you can just put a silly answer in.

Based on this photo www.nswrail.net/locations/ph... it would appear to be powering repeater or regenerator type equipment for the carrier system that would have been running on the pole line. I don't know enough about how things worked in NSW to know if it was SRA, Telecom or shared.

Reinventing the tie discharge apparatus V/Line had in the 80's / 90's (and no doubt was a design taken from elsewhere).

I've just watched what may well be the most surreal stop motion railway film that has ever been made, never seen it before. They were certainly cooking in 1959 Czechoslovakia.

It's on the up, based on the position of the pile line. It's on the left hand of two tracks, being a BG train and post SG construction it's a place where the SG isn't next to the BG. Conclusion: probably the famous curves on the up side of Kilmore East.

Ok this is pretty nerdy. One of the UK heritage railways has some telemetry and has chucked it on a YouTube feed.

This week I have had to work from the office for 5 days in a row. Commuting sucks, but as a consolation prize I can get lunch every day. This week the sequence was Korean - Chinese - Japanese - Indonesian - Thai.

This has been a dullβ„’ tweetβ„’.
