And in all honesty, if a glorified autocomplete helps you to get through a tough spot in life, that's actually pretty good. Therapy or outside help can be difficult to come by. It's just you need to be realistic about those things and not let yourself be manipulated by the powers that be.

Ngl, this is incredibly sad. You don't need much to make people feel attached to software. I know people that have fond memories of Clippy or even those simple Eliza chatbots.

While the 2010-2020 era had a lot of people make a living off webcomics or illustration just by donations + ads, it eventually lead to super formulaic art, which later mutated into AI slop epidemic that we see today.

Also certain websites rewarding trolling didn't help one bit.

I've been working on my website and just... lurking the web revival community and there's one thing I've noticed.

The profit incentive kind of destroyed the internet where it kind of forces in the long term to turn all content into lowest common denominator garbage.
