I'm a singer-songwriter. I can't sing for shit - limited vocal range, can't hit or hold a note. Hearing my own voice gives me intense gender dysphoria. But I write, record, and perform anyway, and people seem to like it.

Make art. Do it badly, do it scared, but don't let a machine do it for you.

I build spaces where queer people can experience joy. Where for one night, we say that we're going to keep the horror outside, and celebrate each other and the community we've built. A place where love can grow away from all the hate. That's my passion, and it's the best thing I can do right now.

My feed has been full of horror for the past week, from Minneapolis to Venezuela, and I feel kinda bad not posting about it. But I can't. I only have so much capacity, and I've decided that my role in the resistance is not to talk about the bad things, important as that is. It's to create the good.
